About Me
About Me

<!--[i

I was born in Trinidad in the West Indies of Indian descent and came to England in the 1960s to nurse.  I’ve had a lifelong interest in painting and having brought up a family and retired from nursing, I’m now pursuing new aims in art.

My paintings show the life of the Caribbean, in representations of the colours, rhythms and warmth of the region’s culture and landscape.  Recent works include the seascapes of the Caribbean coast, the flora and fauna of the tropical rainforest, and the exuberance of Carnival.

My aim is to achieve an immediate connection with the observer, and I paint in a naïve style as the best replication of the wonder of childhood’s first impressions of colours and shapes.
